Whitney Houston's Mother Renounces Estate Executor Role

|

When Whitney Houston's Last Will and Testament was filed for probate in Atlanta, Georgia the details of that will were made public. One of those details was that her mother, Cissy Houston, was appointed by Whitney to be her executor. However, her mother will not serve as executor as Whitney had wished. Why is this?

It is reported that Cissy Houston voluntarily renounced her position as the executor of the estate. There are many reasons why a person may want to do this. They can range from not having enough time to not being able to handle their duties because of the strenuous emotional impact administering the estate of a loved one has. No doubt, this last reason could have been why Cissy Houston decided to renounce her role as the executor. And given her age, executing such a large and complicated estate of a world renown superstar and daughter, could cause physical and mental harm to her health and well being.

The probate court in Atlanta did not have any problem with this choice and promptly appointed Whitney's sister-in-law and also manager, Pat Houston, as the executor to replace her mother.

If you feel that you are simply not up to the challenges of executing a will, consult with a professional Estate Administration Attorney. They can provide you with the tools you will need to make an official renouncement with the probate court or even assist you with the duties of administering an estate instead of giving up the role entirely.
