Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz has ordered the appointment of Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband, Frederic von Anhalt, as her temporary conservator. He will oversee the affairs of the actress and her estate for a period of 6 months.
This ruling comes from a petition that was filed by her daughter, Constance Fracesca Gabor Hilton, back in March of this year. She filed the petition when she discovered that her mother's home mortgage had gone into default and that von Anhalt had taken out a substantial six-figure loan against the property's equity. She is also extremely concerned about the medical care that her mother is receiving.
While the appointment of von Anhalt as conservator may not have been the exact outcome Hilton was looking for, at least he will be required by law to report Gabor's financial and medical situation to the court and Hilton's lawyer on a monthly basis. The judge has also ordered that von Anhalt cannot use any powers of attorney to sell any real property or assets of Gabor's.
Another hearing is set for January to determine whether or not this arrangement has been beneficial to Gabor and her estate.
