Reasons for Dismissal of a Personal Representative
There are a variety of reasons that an individual who is in charge of a will and the responsibilities of handling a will is dismissed. California law specifically lays out in probate code § 8502 the possible reasons for the dismissal of an individual who is acting as personal representative.
These include:
- The individual executes some type of scam (such as cheating or stealing)
- The individual does not have the ability to correctly carry out their tasks and jobs which they are given from the legal office
- The individual disregarded or didn't accomplish the task that their position requires
